Marie Stravlo is a consultant who works with trade and professional associations to strengthen the structures that shape how boards make decisions. Her work focuses on aligning bylaws, policies, roles, committees, and volunteer models so they function as a cohesive system.
With more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and association management, Marie brings both advisory and operational perspective. As the CEO of Avlo Solutions, an association management company, she leads operational support for multiple associations and currently serves as executive director for both a national organization and a state chapter. This ongoing work gives her direct exposure to how boards function and where structure breaks down.
Marie holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and serves as both a graduate and faculty member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management (IOM).
Her work includes restructuring board and committee systems, aligning governing documents, strengthening volunteer engagement, and supporting boards through periods of growth and transition. She works with organizations to clarify roles, define authority, and improve how decisions are made and carried out.
Marie also brings firsthand experience as a volunteer board leader. Having served in leadership roles across multiple organizations, she understands the realities of board service from both the volunteer and executive perspective. This informs how she approaches structure, expectations, and decision-making in practice.
Her work is focused on helping boards operate with clarity, consistency, and structure that supports real decisions.
